Council of Elders Videoconference Report

A special meeting of the Council of Elders (Council) was conducted via video conference. The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and opened with prayer. All 12 Council members and the Secretary were present.

Since the Council has not yet selected a replacement Council reporter after the untimely death of Shawn Cortelyou, Len Martin agreed to create this report.

The Council went into planned executive session at 7:01 p.m. to discuss two items. The first being the next step in the process of selecting the next president, which requires narrowing down the list of candidates. The second item was to consider the next man to serve as Council reporter.

The Council narrowed down the list of potential presidents to four men and will be conducting face to face interviews with each of the candidates, on Friday, May 13, 2022. The men being interviewed are (in alphabetical order), Aaron Dean, John Elliott, Darris McNeely and Rick Shabi.

We encourage everyone to be praying for each of these men, as well as for the decision the Council will make regarding the selection of the next president, so that everything continues to be according to God’s will.

Next, after considering several possible men willing to serve as Council Reporter, the Council has selected Ryan Hall, who will begin at our upcoming meetings, May 17-19, 2022.

The Council came out of executive session at 8:50 p.m., closed with prayer and adjourned.
