Council of Elders Videoconference Report

Milford, Ohio

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Chairman Robin Webber called the meeting to order at 4:11 p.m. E.D.T., and the meeting was opened with prayer. Of the 12 Council of Elders (Council) members, 11 were present. Carmelo Anastasi was not able to be online due to illness.

The Council went into a brief executive session to cover the Denton, Texas, property.

Then in open session the chairman had everyone look at their calendar for the February Council meetings to be finalized during the December meetings.

The chairman also emphasized the spiritual and biblical focus of the upcoming retreat day before the December Council meetings. All Council members are currently providing items they believe might be beneficial for that day.

The chairman turned the meeting over to Roc Corbett to go through the ongoing review of the Bylaws. Roc Corbett, the chairman of the Roles and Rules Committee, went through the timeline for getting this review done. The amending of the Constitution was ratified by the General Conference of Elders (GCE) last May at the annual meeting, and now the updating of the Bylaws is underway. The goal is still to have the Council review done by the end of the December Council meetings to allow the GCE 30 days to review them before the Council makes a final recommendation for ballot at the February Council meetings. The meeting was then turned over to Bill Eddington, an advisor to the Council for this process, to go through the Bylaw review.

The Council adjourned at 6:08 p.m. (EDT).
